I love how they Edited in the old advertisements for people to live there. I loved how they had a narrator. Overall however, I didn't enjoy it. To me it felt very creepy, depressing, and negative. I don't like to be reminded that one day this world won't remember us or the things we left behind and thats all this film did for me.

  2. I thought the interesting imagery was well edited to tell the narrative. I really liked the story progression of how he compares the dreams he wanted to accomplish to those of the Salton Sea. The lighting seemed mostly natural and was enhanced by the morning and dusk light of the dessert which created a warm orange light. It was also interesting how he edited old promotional footage to show the hope and optimism people had for the Salton Sea becoming a permanent tourist destination, then showing how desolate and erosive it is currently. The narrator helped create an erie tone by using a low, emotionless voice that slowly tells the narrative.

  3. Amazing shots this guy has captured in this abandon town. I really like how there was someone telling a story along with the shots, almost explaining them to us. They had great ex-poser capturing the day at its peak and the almost dusk of the day. I really enjoyed how the editor brought in videos from the past to show the huge jump between culture and living in the town compared to it now. Overall I felt it was a very effective documentary piece on the town.

  4. This film was very deep. I could feel the emotion he was trying the put forth about the families and the abandoned houses. In the beginning there were a lot of nice color contrasts when he was showing he desert at night with the sun setting in the background. My favorite scene would probably have to the the scene when he is walking down the torn up road up to the sign at the end of the road. Over all I liked this short a lot and hope to see more from the same guy.
