I really loved the visual aspects of this short because I felt that each shot was strong and compelling to set a interesting and ominous tone. I liked many of the shots were angled in a way that not only shows the characters in their environment but that shows a perspective of the vastness of setting and the decay of the buildings and pier. I thought the opening shots showing the people underwater was done very well despite the water being very murky. Also I loved the settings that they choose because I feel like the settings alone could have told most the story.
I really loved this short. It was beautifully put together. I really liked this more than Beast of the Southern Wild. Both were great. I truly love Ben Zeitlin's style. It's so unique. As I was watching this short, I caught myself wondering how they made the sets. Each shot has so much texture and just the right amount of colors. This film was very heart wrenching. I'm sure everyone affected by the tragedy in New Orleans who watched this film, loved to hate it. I would score this film a 10/10
